We didn’t make this headline up, it’s the title of a PETITION. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife seems to be in bed with the Large Trophy Hunting associations such as Safari Club International. They’ve been stalling listing African lions as “threatened” under the Endangered Species Act.
Finally public pressure from supporters like ours at JUSTICE 4 CECIL, who’ve signed the petitions, is forcing them to take action. In a shameful move they are proposing to make an exception for Trophy Hunters.
- “However, it is simultaneously proposing an exemption that would allow the import of African lion “trophies” (or carcasses) from nations that it determines practice sound conservation.“
Trophy Hunting has no place in conservation as it sabotages preservation efforts and weakens a species gene pool by killing off the biggest and strongest.
- David Suzuki Doesn’t endorse it (Cecil the lion’s killing shines spotlight on barbaric trophy hunting)
- Animal Planet condones it as well (Animals Are Not Trophies)
They are without any doubt listening to big $$$ Lobbying from the hunting associations and we need to make sure Lions are protected without any exceptions.
We want to protect Lions from Trophy Hunters, Poachers, Canned Hunting and other acts of animal cruelty. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife needs to understand that.
In 2012 we were fighting the same fight and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife kept the Lion off the endangered species list to favor of Trophy Hunters. (NBC NEWS ARTICLE FROM TUESDAY NOV. 27, 2012) Please don’t let Trophy Hunters win this round with BIG $$$ LOBBYING. Lets get JUSTICE 4 CECIL.
Please help us take action and protect Lions from everyone, especially Wealthy Trophy Hunters.
Thank You for your continued support
